Go to your local polling place on Saturday 29 August 2026. Polling places open at 8am and close at 6pm. You can also vote early from Monday 17 August.

Why Brett is on the ballot as an Independent. Sovereign Australia is not yet a registered political party, so no party name can be printed beside his name. He stands as an Independent and campaigns on Sovereign Australia Party policy. Nothing about the platform changes — only what fits on the ballot paper.
What registration takes. The Australian Electoral Commission requires a list of between 1,500 and 1,650 members enrolled to vote, and a $500 fee. The Western Australian Electoral Commission requires 500 members who are electors. Both check the names against the roll and contact a random sample to confirm the membership is genuine.
What happens next. The party will contest the next federal election, and Brett will contest the seat of Forrest in Western Australia’s South-West. Registration takes the Commission about four months to process and cannot be processed during an election period, so the members have to be signed up well before then.
